Deb Foskett

Deb has worked as a registered nurse for 40 years commencing her training at Cooma District Hospital . She then completed her paediatric nursing at Great Ormond Street, London qualifying as a "Sick Children's Nurse 1981. . In 1988 Deb returned to Australia to work at the Adelaide Children's Hospital where she started her career as a diabetes educator. . It was 1995 and Deb decided to start her Private Practice in Melbourne . Apart from a short period working for a device company Deb has remained in private practice since then and moved from Melbourne to the Gold Coast in Qld in 2005. Debs work philosophy to patient care is driven by her passionate belief in insulin pump therapy, and the right of a patient or families of children to be able to make informed choice of diabetes insulin delivery systems available. She feels that those who chose insulin pump therapy MUST have effective and appropriate levels of education and support Deb Foskett works in one of very few clinics in Australia offering insulin pump therapy at diagnosis She has been involved in insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring clinical trials. Most recently she has established and is president of a Charitable Trust called The Glawry Association. They strive to raise funding for families to attend camps and education days on the gold coast. Recently she completed her Masters of Heath Nurse Practitioner and is now working as an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner in south east Queensland.
